"Could have done without that" - Tommy Boy

First of all, Jolene - you're beautiful. The wedding pictures that April showed me were gorgeous. Your makeup was awesome, the dress was elegant and the hair was perfect. It looked like the perfect wedding.

As for one of the pictures I was shown, Kristen or April will fill you in on the hilarity of it. It's a picture of Kristen, so (of course) there will be a funny story to go along with it. Do visit their blogs immediately.

Second, this weekend was excellent! So much laughing, so many memories. And chair breaking. Yes, that's right, I broke April's grandpa's recliner. Way to go, Krista! (Even though April insists that it was going to break one of these days and it just so happened to break the day I sat in it, I still feel bad.) But, it makes for a funny story!

All other funny stories from this weekend will be more eloquently retold by Kristen or April, so I'm not going to try to write any of them. But do know this: I spent more money over the weekend than I have all year so far. Shopping with the girls - who would ever have thought I'd do that? (I'm not a big shopper at all.)

It's Wednesday!

So, I was going through old emails the other day, and I came across one that I wrote to Jeff about 2 years ago. Half way through the email, I had to go back to the top and see who I was writing to, because everything I was saying, I could be saying to Brad today. I think that is a sign.

Then, I was reading another email and the following phrases jumped out at me: (I take this as another sign.)

* No man is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.

* Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

* The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them.

* Don't waste your time on a man who isn't willing to waste their time on you.

* Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

* Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

* There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

* Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

* Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

Today is Wednesday - our designated "realtionship day." So, we'll see if he follows through on a date or a phone call. I doubt it. His word is pretty much shit to me now. I feel sorry for him, that no one cares enough about him to tell him the best thing in life is right in front of him and he's tossing it away. He may not regret it now, but when he's 40 and lonely, he may just want these days back to relive and be better.

Who knows. All I know is that I want a man who is happy to be with me, and who wants to know how I am and what I'm doing because he truly cares and is interested in me. I don't think that's so much to ask for. I don't think at this point I'll ever find it, but as long as I have hope, I may still find the man of my dreams when I'm 80 and in a nursing home, blind, deaf and in a wheelchair. But at least I could possible find it.

Have you hugged a LATVIAN today?

Um, the above was a bumper sticker I saw on a car in my town. So my answer is heck, no. There are only about 800 of us here and we are all Norwegian. Latvian? Really, 'cmon!

My weekend went way too fast!! I can't believe it's already Monday. But it was a nice weekend. The weather yesterday was just perfect! I read a book in the afternoon but was too distracted by the blue skies and fluffy white clouds to really read much of it. And there was a heavenly breeze - as my mother would say.

I am borning. I have nothing exciting to write about. Nathaniel started college today. I hope it went well and that he will do well in school. I think he will, I just hope he thinks so, too!!

Can't wait for Friday!

ROAD TRIP!

So, this month must be the month of Road Trips. Woo Hoo! Last weekend we went up to the Lake and had a blast. This weekend we are going to Green Bay to my sister's and will have a blast. Then next weekend I'm going to visit April and I will have a blast to outblast any other blast. Got that?!

So, Tuesday I called in sick to work and went to the Dermatologist. Now, before you think that this was a cop out on work, let me explain. For the last two months (two!!) I have been breaking out on my chin. And it's not your little zit-type breakout. It's like mountain sized, red boils that hurt and on Tuesday morning looked infected. So, I went and the doctor put me on an antibiotic, and gave me some cream to put on my face. I still don't know what's wrong, my labs haven't come back yet. Yes, she took samples of my puss-infected sores. Should be interesting.

Other than that, we've been moving Nathaniel into his new apartment and he starts school on Monday. I think he's excited and nervous. It will be sad to see him go, since he's been underfoot for so long. But I'm extremely proud he's bettering himself!

Week In Review

It's been such a busy week, it has flown by but it seems like it's been sooooo long!!

Monday night when I got home from work I puked until 7pm, and then decided that I should just go to sleep because you can't puke when you're sleeping, right?!! I think that I had a touch of food poisoning. And you know what it was from? Salad. Yeah. Salad.

You see, Monday morning I woke up refreshed and ready to do some healthy eating and exercise this week, so I made a salad and took it to work. Yeah, I think that it made me sick. So, I take it as a sign to not eat healthy at the moment. But I have been working out after work, which is a baby step, but it's a step nonetheless.

So, I was extremely happy to see Kristen's new weight loss blog. That is good motivation, with a touch of hilarity. Everyone needs that.

On Wednesday, I got a new hair-style. I cut off all the curls and got it about shoulder length (5/6 inches cut off) and got rid of the blonde and when brown. It's very shocking, but everyone has said they like it. Even Nathaniel, which is surprising because I was sure he would have laughed at me. My dad thinks it makes me look older - I think it makes me look more mature, so either way it is o.k. for me. Hopefully I'll act less blonde!!

I have had closings coming out of my ears and half of them have been crappy, so work has been totally busy.

Tonight I get to go to a Mary Kay foot spa party - which will be relaxing and fun! Yay! And tomorrow night we are having a family birthday party up at the Lake, so there will be fun and good food to be had by all. I can't wait!!
