Stop the Hate
I am pleading with everyone that I know to stop the hate that is about to plague the American people. I know that this election has many people divided and that they are passionate about the candidate that they are voting for. There is nothing wrong with that.
But don't tear down a good man and try to incite fear and hate into the hearts and minds of people just to win an election.
If you differ on policies with either Barack Obama or John McCain, that is fine. But don't spread the lies and yell, "Kill him! Kill him!" or "Terrorist!" at rallies. That is not productive to bringing our country together. And a man who doesn't see that this is not good for our country is not the man who should be our President.
I fear the aftermath of this election season because of the lies and hate being spread. But we have the power to stop it. We can stand up and say stick to the issues and policies, not tearing down a man's character. We can be the ones who bring this country together, the way that America is supposed to be.
So before you send on an email message spreading hate and fear, stop. Think about it and make sure that you're trying to build America up, not tear it down. Too many people before us have suffered and died to get us to this spot. Didn't Jesus die for everyone? Didn't He come to show us how to love one another?
Attack the policies, not the man behind them. And don't spread false rumors. Thou shalt not bear false witness was a Ten Commandment, after all.

I just heard about that last night on TV, about the crowd shouting "Kill him!" and racial slurs. How could Palin/McCain just stand by and allow their supporters to get away with that? I'd ask them to leave.
And you know what really makes me mad? No one from the media stands up and says that this is wrong. No one from a religious organization says this is wrong. NO ONE SAYS THIS IS WRONG!! That infuriates me.
I understand that you may not like Obama's policies. That's fine. Attack his policies. So you don't want the government to help people get health care, you want it to stay privitized. That's fine. Attack that policy! So you don't want to have increased taxes because you make over $250,000 a year (if I made that much, I wouldn't want an increase, either, believe me). So attack that policy!
But all these "he's a liar" "he Lied" "he's a terrorist" accusations are ridiculous. If you go to factcheck.org, you'll see that John McCain is just as "dishonest" (if not more so) than Barack Obama.
And this Ayers thing is unbelieveable. That article from The New York Times that Palin quoted from SPECIFICALLY STATES that there IS NO EVIDENCE to conclude that they have a relationship. But you didn't hear that on the news, did you. I read that article, too. I did my homework.
And this board that Ayers and Obama sat on, the president of the board was a big supporter of John McCain....doesn't (since we're accusing by association) that mean McCain's a terrorist?
Besides, if Ayers is so incredibly dangerous, why is he allowed to TEACH COLLEGE? Is that college putting out terrorists? Shouldn't the college be shut down? Shouldn't Ayers be in prison?
Plus, if you weren't around during the Vietnam War, let me remind you of something: EVERYONE was against that war. That was the culture back then. Read some history.
I could go on, but I won't.
